We had Charlie with us several times in August, and one of the highlights was going to watch the Sylvan Lake Gulls for the first time. The Sylvan Lake Gulls are part of the WCBL (Western Canadian Baseball League), a Summer collegiate baseball league.
For the entire drive to Sylvan Lake, we followed a storm⛈, and dodged it all the way. The edge of it was hammering the ball diamond when we arrived. So, we waited in the parking lot in the truck for it to pass. Charlie jumped into the front with us and sat on the console, which is now called… The Charlie Seat!
Sittin’ on Grampa’s lap ….
She’s ready to start driving! …
“Let’s go faster, Grampa!” …
The storm passed (the game had been delayed ½ an hour or so) and we were ready for the game to start! …
The skies cleared and the sun came out! …
We had a beautiful sunset in the 8th inning …
Sadly, the Gulls lost this playoff game, so it was their last of the Season! We’ll be out next year to cheer them on again!
